Nihilism for Dummies!

What is this nonsense?

Nihilism for Dummies is a "weblog" that looks at, in rough and compressed fashion, current events from a decidely pseudo-nihilistic point of view. This is not meant to be "high-minded" or "insightful" - it's mostly just an online journal of thoughts and notes. I don't really pretend to be one of those "bloggers," who are busy pretending to change the online media world. I'm just a guy who writes for the amusement of the occassional visitor.

If you came here looking for good, old-fashioned information on nihilism, you are just plain out of luck. But, you can read this amusing Primer on Nihilism over at blogspot.

Obligatory Stupid Tracker!

Going back to this tracker, temporarily. Still, though, please actually take a minute to mail me if you wander in here and tell me what you think. It can't get better if I do this in a vacuum. Unless, you know, it's one of those Dyson vacs - cause those are sweet. We've got one, you know...

October is always a bad month. I know, there should have been tons of fun about this election. But, really, this election has been no fun. It's oddly the same crap as the last two or three cycles. So, you know, go read my old stuff.

For instance, I actually did write a brief FAQ on why I don't vote four years ago. It's very brief and, to be honest, it was done very quickly and without much regard for logic or anything else. I think that means that this FAQ would fit in well with most of the crap that dominates online discussion forums these days.

Looking back, I haven't written a lot at all about this election cycle (or how it's just business as usual for the Ruling Elites). Either I'm getting old and/or the nihilism has totally become real and not just some silly joke name for a website. Either way, in 2004, I posted Don't Vote! to the everything 2 site. As I recall, there was a lot of silly grief about that...and about the other nifty things I wrote that year (btw, the links in these pieces do not work, long story there...):

• On November 3, 2004, the angry election night screed,
• The Day After, which talked about how the Blame Game was a poor exercise in American Civics,
• Bush's Mandate, which as I pointed out he did not have and no one would challenge him on that point. They didn't, and America has suffered because of it
